The Alternate has a wide temperature control range from 158°F to 428°F, low enough to toast it or high enough to roast it. Temperature is displayed on the OLED screen along with battery life. Hybrid heating gets you the best of both worlds, able to produce vapor like a standard convection while preserving battery life like a conduction vaporizer. However if you still want bigger clouds when the device is set to max, you can close up the adjustable airflow for a more concentrated cloud. When the battery does deplete it can easily be swapped for a fully charged battery while you charge the dead one. The included grinder can be attached to the Alternate and fills the bowl as you grind.
